Alimi relieved to end Shooting Stars’ goal drought

Shooting Stars striker, Sikiru Alimi says he saved his goal for the best moment after scoring in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance in Benin City.
Alimi scored his first goal for Shooting Stars in their 1-1 away draw against Group A leaders Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Sunday.
The former Remo Stars forward joined the Oluyole Warriors as a free agent at the start of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Alimi failed to make an appearance for the Ibadan club in the first stanza due to injury.
“What a way to score my first goal in the NPFL this season,” he told newsmen
“I’m happy to at least help my team get a point in this game.
“I have been working hard since the start of the second stanza, most especially our last home game against Gombe United but it is good to save it for this moment.”
