President Tinubu Hosts Governors and Ministers for Ramadan Iftar at Presidential Villa

President Bola Tinubu is currently hosting an Iftar dinner at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together top government officials, governors, and ministers as part of the annual Ramadan tradition. The gathering serves as an opportunity for political and government leaders to break their fast with the president.

Among those in attendance are Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and several federal cabinet members are also present at the dinner.

The event has drawn governors from various states, including Alex Otti of Abia, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Babagana Zulum of Borno, and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta. Others in attendance are Monday Okpebholo of Edo, Muhammad Yahaya of Gombe, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, and Uba Sani of Kaduna.

Additional governors participating in the Iftar include Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, Mohammed Bago of Niger, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Duoye Diri of Bayelsa, and Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi.

Several key federal agency heads are also present at the gathering. Among them is Professor Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, alongside Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, acting controller general of the Nigerian Correctional Service. Others include Jaji Abdulganiyu, comptroller general of the Federal Fire Service, and Bashir Adeniyi, comptroller general of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The event also includes leading figures from Nigeria’s oil sector. Abba Kyari, the group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, is in attendance, as well as Farouk Ahmed, chief executive officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

The Iftar dinner is a significant part of the Ramadan observance at the Presidential Villa, bringing together political leaders, policymakers, and top government officials.
