Alleged murder: Family cries to Lagos CP over detention of children

The Royal Family of Onasa of the Odo Onosa and Abatiwa, Ogun State, has sent a save-our-souls to Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Idowu Owohunwa, over the wrongful detention of their sons over allegation of murder of a policeman.
The families want the CP to order thorough investigation into the murder allegation as the suspects were innocent of the allegation. The families said they were having a land dispute with an alleged notorious land grabber, who used the opportunity of the murder of some policemen to rope their children into the murder to distract them from the land case
In the petition by their solicitor, Barr. Ayodeji Adekunle, stated that those who are wrongfully detained in Lagos State Police Command are: Shakiru Shittu, Taofeek Aluko, Sola Sonaike, Adekunle Onasanya and Muri Aluko. They were alleged to be cultists who killed some policemen and snatched their guns. It is false information to the police to distract us and the police. We live in Ogun State, but the murder of the policemen was done in Lagos. Our children were arrested by a local security outfit under the payroll of a land grabber, who handed them over to Lagos State Police Command. The police did not ask questions as they quickly received our children as suspected cultists and murderers.
“We are appealing to the CP to look into the matter critically, to see that those who arrested our children and handed them over to the police were those who committed the murder and turned it against our children. They have murdered many people before and the Inspector-General of Police is aware of their activities and has ordered an investigation against them. They are using the wrongful information of the arrest of our children to distract the IGP from the land case we have with them. It is a critical case, so we need highly crack detectives to do a painstaking investigation to unravel what is really happening.
We are solicitors to the Onosa Royal Family of Odo Onosa and Abatiwa. The Abatiwa village is a boundary community between Lagos and Ogun State. The family is a land-owning family and a judgement creditor in suit No HCJ/86/2012 between Otunba David Okelarin & Ors V Morufu Karonwi Saliu & Ors. We, hereinafter, refer to the Onosa Royal Family as our clients.
The main plank of our brief is that these notorious land grabbers and others invaded our clients land at Abatiwa and unleashed terror, leading to the death of two people. The two dead people were Kamoru Anifowoshe and Akibu Akinsiku. After killing Kamoru Anifowoshe, these heartless people cut away his two hands. We have the medical report and photographs.
“The matter was reported to the Inspector General of Police via a petition dated the 13th day of March 2023. The IGP promptly assigned the investigation to the Ogun State Command, via a signal dated the 22nd day of March 2023. Till date, the Ogun State command has not commenced investigation into the matter. However, we have it on good authority that the culprits are already aware that there is a petition for murder pending against them, and have now decided to fight back by giving the police in Lagos false information about our clients who are the complainants in the murder case.
One of the strategies that these disgruntled elements are using is to go on the social media, where they alleged that our clients are criminals who killed policemen and stole their guns. This is a laughable accusation because the person who is now portraying himself as a business mogul is a notorious land grabber in Lagos and Ogun states. In fact, he was once incarcerated by the Ogun State Government and was imprisoned at the Isale Oko Correctional Centre in Sagamu, Ogun State, for about nine months without bail. The case is still hanging over him.
“We have several social media skits and publications the land grabber and his group did against our clients and even against the police. One of such skits was done on Wednesday, the 12th of April, where they mentioned the names of a senior police officer, who has been posted to Anti Cultism Unit at Adamo/Araromi, Ikorodu, and is yet to fully report for duty. We have a social media publication where one of the land grabber’s chief of staff and his cohorts tied down another client of ours and tortured him after abducting the man somewhere around Parafa and taking him to NITEL Ikorodu, where he was tortured. Our clients are ready to provide the social media skits for further investigation into this matter. In fact, one of the skits is a video chip that speaks for itself.
The whole objective of the negative actions of this deadly group is to get our client arrested and incarcerated, so that the murder case against them in Ogun State will not see the light of the day. As long as there is still justice in this country, this will not happen. As a result of this, we have advised our clients to write a letter of reminder to the IGP and also inform him that the Ogun State command has refused to carry out the investigation ordered by his highly respected office.
