A Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday canceled the N100 million bail granted to James Nolan, a British director of Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID).

Justice Ahmed Mohammed issued a bench warrant against Nolan in a ruling.

The judge ordered that the British national be apprehended by security authorities, including Interpol, wherever he is seen within or outside Nigeria, and brought before a court to stand trial.

“In this court’s opinion, the absence of the second defendant (Nolan) in court means that he has skipped bail.”

“The bail is hereby recalled and a bench warrant is issued against the second defendant,” Justice Mohammed ruled.

The judge also directed that the surety and a retired civil servant living in Gwagwalada area of Abuja, Mr. George Kadiri, should appear in court on the next adjourned date to show cause why his bail bond should not be forfeited.

The judge consequently adjourned the matter until November 3 for hearing.

The judge gave the order following an oral application made by counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Bala Sanga.

Track News reports that the anti-graft agency had, on August 18, 2020, arraigned Nolan before Justice Mohammed.
