…The Lawmaker in his bid to encourage, empower and boost the local Vigilante groups is set to recruit 220 youths that he will pay on a monthly basis

Today marks exactly one week since after ‘Operation Wipeout Cultism In Amassoma Community’ was formally launched by the Member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 1, Hon. Felix E. Bonny Ayah in a collaborative synergy with the Amassoma Police Command and other security agencies.

The joint operations being initiated by the proactive Lawmaker are carried out on daily basis by the local Vigilante groups in conjunction with the Amassoma Police Command and other security agencies.

The operations are aimed at curbing not only cultism, but also thievery, raping, harm robbery, gangsterism, hoodlumism and other social vices. Not even sagging of trousers below the waist to reveal the underpants by males is allowed in Amassoma Community anymore. As a matter of fact, alot of boys have been arrested for sagging their trousers in the last couple of days.

Residents which includes indigenes, non indigenes, businessmen and women, traders and students of Niger Delta University(NDU), has publicly supported the decision of the Lawmaker to eradicate cultism, thievery and other related social menaces in the Community.

They commended the Honourable Member, the local Vigilante groups, the Amassoma Police Command and other security agencies for their concerted efforts at ensuring the security of lives and properties. Reiterated that the ‘Operation Wipeout Cultism’ has being effective as residents now sleeps at night with their doors open and two eyes closed without fear or worry.

Emphasized that a peaceful, tranquil and conducive environment is needed for businesses and other socio economic activities to thrive.

Furthermore, the Lawmaker was encouraged by his Constituents to continue with his good works of fulfilling his campaign promises by making good laws that will attract development to the Constituency and guarantee the security, safety and well-being of his Constituents.

The peace loving people of Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 also urged other political leaders and stakeholders of the Constituency to give the Lawmaker the needed support and assistance that will enhance effective and qualitative representation for the common good of all.
