APC chairman, Adamu attacks Governors for ‘tearing’ party apart
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday condemned some former and serving governors of the party as being responsible for the crisis it is experiencing.
TrackNews reports that Adamu said this in his opening address at the 11th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC holding at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The APC NEC is being attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, all governors, members of the National Assembly, former governors, state chairmen, and other relevant party stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Governors elected on the platform of the APC have told President Buhari that they oppose the idea of consensus in picking candidates for various elective positions.
The governors conveyed their position to the President at a meeting with him on Tuesday.
The National Working Committee (NWC) adopted the indirect form of primaries for electing its presidential candidate and other flagbearers for various offices in the 2023 general elections.
