Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified ten Presidential hopefuls and cleared 13 for the June 6 Presidential convention.

Chairman of the screening panel of the party, John Odigie Oyegun said the APC is a lucky party as it has quality aspirants for the Presidency.

While submitting the panel’s report to the party Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, Oyegun said;

“First, we have 23 aspirants that we interacted with and my first comment is that we are indeed a lucky party. The point I want to make is the quality of the people that want to govern this country,”

“We are a governing party and so the ability to lead, the background, experience… it is on the basis that we made a shortlist. I won’t want to read the names, I’d leave that to you, but we brought the number down to 13.

“We could have cut it a little shorter but we wanted the younger elements to surface.”

The APC will hold its presidential primary election between the 6th and 8th of June as one of the screened aspirants, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu made the rounds for his verbal onslaught on Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun and President Muhammadu Buhari.
