Niger Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello has directed the Commissioner of Works, Haliru Zakari Jikantoro and other political appointees contesting at all party levels to tender their resignation letters.
This is coming as campaigns for the APC state and national congresses intensify.
Jikantoro is vying to be Niger chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
This directive was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane.
According to the statement, the affected appointees must tender their resignation because it complies with the constitution of All Progressives Congress (APC).
The statement further requested that the resignation letters should be submitted to the Office of Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.
