APC Shifts Presidential Primary Election
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted its presidential primaries to June 6th and 7th.
The decision was reached moments after the Independent National Electoral Commission extended the deadline for political parties to conduct their presidential primary election.
INEC had extended the deadline after massive pressure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC.
Political parties under the aegis of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) had asked INEC for a 37 to 60 days extension of the timeline for primaries and the nomination of candidates but the commission refused the plea.
The electoral body, however, in a statement obtained by Naija News granted the extension for six days for political parties to conclude primary activities.
APC had earlier fixed its presidential election for Sunday, 29th of May, 2022 at the Eagle Square in the Federal Capital Territory.
