APC sure of victory, says ex-chairman

Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Chief Jide Awe, has expressed confidence that the party’s candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, will win the June 18 governorship election.
Awe said Oyebanji would win the poll by landslide because the APC was on firm ground and has become the ‘bride of the people who are overwhelmingly satisfied with the party’s purposeful leadership in the Governor Kayode Fayemi-led government’.
Awe, who spoke on a radio programme, said Fayemi’s performance would facilitate victory for Oyebanji as the people are ready to reward the APC.
He explained that support for Oyebanji has continued to grow as more Ekiti indigenes abroad, Ekiti citizens in other states, local and international bodies, and more interest groups, have been pledging their support for the APC candidate.
The former chairman also noted that the APC has been waxing stronger with members of the opposition parties joining after being attracted with the gaint strides of the current administration and acknowledged APC as masses-oriented party.
He urged civil servants, farmers, market women, teachers, artisans and farmers to vote for the APC in the poll, noting that electing Oyebanji would be a an enthronement of the man who has an unrivalled understanding of intricacies of governance.
Awe added: “Biodun Oyebanji is a thoroughbred person, humble and very diligent in doing any work committed to his hands. When you give him an assignment, he will do it conscientiously, and while handling any assignment for you, he will update you regularly.
“He is a loyal and faithful follower, he doesn’t deny his leaders. He is a disciple of our boss Otunba Niyi Adebayo who, while in office during the Adebayo’s regime, touched so many lives and there are testimonies for all his good works.
“As Secretary to the State Government during Fayemi’s administration, Oyebanji touched many lives and whatever he did for people in his official capacity.”
