The North Central Women Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, has appealed to governors-elect from her zone to ensure more women are given appointments into their cabinets.

This, she said, would help make up for the poor representation of women in elective positions in the just concluded general elections.

Her appeal, which was contained in a statement by her media office in Abuja, argued that this gesture will go a long way towards gender inclusivity in governance.

The women leader commended the Kwara State governor, Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, for supporting five House of Assembly female candidates from the primaries to successfully emerge victorious in the general elections on the platform of the All Progressive Congress.

Princess Audu asked all the governors elect to recall the sacrifices the women made with little or no support in many instances during the campaigns, stressing that the women have paid their dues and it is imperative that they are rewarded in kind.

The APC women leader called on all the women to dust off their CVs and begin to lobby for opportunities in the new governments being formed, as they are as deserving as their male colleagues.

She pledged her continuous support and loyalty to the women of the North Central and assured them that she will do all in her power to ensure that they are appointed into positions in their respective states.
