Armed men abduct police officer in Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Abdulmumini Yusuf, attached to the command.
Abdulmumini, who was serving at the Area Command in Ilorin, was reportedly abducted by unidentified armed men on Tuesday night.
The spokesman of the state police command, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the development to Track news in Ilorin on Thursday.
Okasanmi said the command was working tirelessly to rescue the abducted police officer, describing the incident as serious.
He said the motive for the abduction of the officer was yet unknown, even as he reiterated the readiness of the command to protect lives and property of the citizenry.
Secretary of the Kwara State Community Policing Advisory Committee, Shola Muse, described the incident as worrisome and frightening.
Muse implored security agencies in the state to improve on prevention and control of crime for the safety of the citizenry.
Reports said the officer was about to enter his house at Ogidi area of Ilorin metropolis when he was abducted on Tuesday night
