Atiku, Other APC Governors Converge In Abuja After Meeting President Buhari
The Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum on Tuesday night meet to discuss issues related to the forthcoming national convention.
It was gathered that the meeting started late at the Kebbi state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro District.
According to Vanguard, the APC governors forum meeting afforded members the opportunity to deliberate on several issues discussed with President Muhammadu Buhari earlier in the day.
TrackNews reports that President Buhari had reportedly waved off pressures from some state governors for him to change his mind about the choice of former Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Adamu as the next national chairman of the APC.
The three governors were said to have tried to prevail on Buhari to change his mind during Tuesday’s meeting with other APC Governors.
The Governors, identified as one from the South-East, another from the South-West, and the last from the North-Central were said to be unhappy with the current arrangement and tried to get Buhari to change his mind on Adamu and also the zoning formula released by the party last week.
However, they were unable to get the President to change his mind according to a source who spoke on the details of Tuesday’s meeting between the APC Governors and President Buhari.
The source quoted by The Nation said the three Governors were unhappy as they couldn’t get their wishes approved during the meeting.
