Atiku Speaks on Ending Marginalization, Unifying Nigeria in 2023
Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has reiterated his promise to end marginalization and unite the country if elected in 2023.
According to Track News, the former Vice President made the remarks on Saturday at a PDP Presidential campaign rally in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The PDP candidate promised to ensure that no part of the country is marginalized and reiterated his pledge to restructure the country if elected President in 2023.
Atiku also urged FCT voters to vote for the PDP again in 2023, emphasizing that he will protect every Nigerian living in the FCT and other parts of the country.
“Give us your support again, we will do more for the residents of Abuja than we did between 1999 and 2015,” he said. All of your entitlements under the current constitution, as well as all appointments that belong to Abuja, will be given to Abuja, as we have done before and will do again.
“If what you have demanded necessitates constitutional review, we assure you that we will support that constitutional review in order to protect and guarantee your aspirations in our new constitution.”
“More importantly, we have pledged to restructure this country, and while we are restructuring, we will give you everything you are demanding, I assure you, and I want to promise you.”
“The people of Abuja, you will be the first to feel the impact of the government because you are in the federal capital.” I guarantee that a PDP administration will fulfill all of these responsibilities. We sincerely appreciate it.
“We are currently facing challenges; can you imagine Abuja without security?” Can you imagine Abuja, the federal capital, being unprotected? We will protect and secure Abuja for your own safety.
“Of course, you’re aware of our five-point agenda, and we intend to unite the country.” Every part of this country will be given a sense of belonging, and no part will be marginalized; this is how a country like Nigeria can achieve unity.
“We have pledged to restore security; it is critical that we give everyone peace: peace to go to the farm, peace to trade, peace to everyone.” Only when there is peace will we be able to pursue our various goals.
“We have promised that education is critical to youth development; we have the highest number of out-of-school children, and we will ensure that these children return to school; we will also ensure that our universities reopen indefinitely.”
