Avoid Elders Who Ask You Not To Vote For Bola Tinubu – APC To Northerners
Northerners have been warned not to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
The North West Presidential Campaign Council issued the warning on Sunday, noting that some elders in the region are advising citizens not to vote for the former Governor of Lagos State for the nation’s top political position.
According to Track News, the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket has been dogged by controversy since Tinubu announced former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima as his running mate in the 2023 elections.
While acrimony over the single-faith ticket has persisted even within the party, the party’s campaign council stated, “The Tinubu/Shettima joint presidential ticket is merely coincidental and not out of any desire to suppress a particular set of people.”
On Sunday, November 27, the council’s spokesman, Muhammad Shehu Molash, stated that Tinubu has emerged as a believer in the Nigerian project, as evidenced by his consistent support for northern presidential candidates.
“Our attention has been drawn to a widely circulated voice note of a supposedly northern elder, Alh Sani Zangon Daura, calling on Northerners to reject presidential candidates of southern Nigerian extraction,” he says in his statement.
“As a result, the North West APC Presidential Campaign Council is urging Northerners to ignore the antics of these elders, who use a bogus northern agenda to promote their individual and self-serving interests.”
Tinubu Is Incompetent To Lead Nigeria – PDP Campaign Organization
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organization has stated that Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, lacks the capacity and competence to lead the country in 2023.
According to Track News, the campaign’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbodiyan, said this on Sunday in response to Tinubu’s comments about the PDP’s flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar, over the weekend.
Recall that Tinubu, during a visit to the Pere of the Gbaramatu Kingdom, HRM Oboro Gbaraun II, on Friday, asked the monarch to ask Atiku to withdraw his presidential bid.
Tinubu, speaking at a rally at Lagos’ Teslim Balogun Stadium on Saturday, urged Nigerians to permanently retire Atiku in 2023 because he and the PDP had nothing to offer Nigerians after 16 years in power.
You’re Desperate To Divert Attention
Reacting to the comments in an interview with Vanguard on Sunday, Ologbodiyan said Tinubu is desperate to divert attention from the seven disastrous years of the ruling party by attacking the PDP and Atiku.
He said Tinubu was obviously embarrassed by the disastrous outing of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration over the past seven years and has nothing to campaign with.
Ologbodiyan said Nigerians cannot wait to chase the APC out of power and return the PDP to Aso Rock to secure the future of generations yet unborn.
