Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The removal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, will be one of the main agendas between the camps of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Remember that the PDP was in crisis after Atiku bypassed Wike and chose Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his presidential running mate.

The Rivers governor, who finished second in the party’s presidential primary, has refused to openly support Atiku’s presidential bid.

Some top PDP members who are dissatisfied with the party’s leadership have joined Wike in calling for the resignation of the party’s National Chairman.

But Ayu has rejected the calls, claiming that he was elected for a four-year term and was prepared to complete it.

It remains to be seen whether Wike and Atiku’s camps can reach an agreement when they meet again today (Friday) for reconciliation.
Wike’s supporters believe that with Ayu as PDP national chairman, they will not receive justice.

According to a source, “Ayu has demonstrated that he cannot be an impartial judge.” How can a chairman who is supposed to be for everyone openly support a candidate?

“After the election, he was among those who insisted Wike not be nominated as running mate.” If you recall, Atiku unilaterally nominated Peter Obi in 2019, but this time he asked the party to choose for him, despite the fact that he could have chosen whoever he wanted. However, Ayu and company denied Wike’s selection.”
