Baba-Ahmed explain why he withdrew from PDP Governorship primary.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, has explained why he withdrew from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Kaduna State.
Baba-Ahmed stated that he resigned from the governorship primary in order to uphold his principle of not bribing delegates for votes.
According to Track News, the economist made the remarks during a press conference on Monday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Baze University’s founder stated that he did not regret withdrawing from the PDP governorship primary.
“I withdrew from the PDP’s Kaduna State governorship primary on May 24 due to divergent principles,” he explained.
Baba-Ahmed was forced to withdraw his governorship bid, according to reports, after a large number of Kaduna delegates pledged to vote against him in the PDP primaries.
PDP delegates who were dissatisfied with him described him as a frugal individual who seeks political office without consulting them or other party supporters.
The rise of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, according to Baba-Ahmed, has been a bitter pill for some Nigerian politicians.
On July 8, the LP’s vice presidential candidate, Baba-Ahmed, claimed that some politicians had already gone too far in fabricating and spreading false information about him and Obi in the name of politics.
