Bandits Killed My Husband & While I Was In My Waiting Period As A Widow They Kidnapped Me – Victim

A kidnap victim, Laziya Awal who is one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) living in Kuta camp, Shiroro Local Government Council of Niger State has narrated her ordeal in the hands of bandits

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Trust TV, Mrs. Awal disclosed that her husband was killed by bandits in her presence and while she was still in her mourning period as a widow, bandits struck again.

She said they came to her house in the night and kidnapped her along with ten other women. She further disclosed that she and the women spent three months in captivity before a four hundred thousand naira ransom was paid for their release.

According to Mrs. Awal “My husband was killed by bandits and while I was in my waiting period as a widow, bandits struck again and kidnapped me. I spent three months in captivity. They came around 2. a.m and abducted 11 of us: all women. They released us after the payment of four hundred thousand naira ransom. My husband was shot in my presence, it was a heartless killing”.
