Baraje: Revolt Against APC Misrule in 2023
By Adeleye Kunle
Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, former national chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that the 2023 general election will be a revolt against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government’s misrule and bad governance.
Speaking at a PDP stakeholders’ meeting in Ilorin on Sunday night, Baraje bemoaned the state’s and the country’s current state of insecurity, poor economic management, and hardships caused by the ruling APC government.
He claimed that the PDP represented the hope of the masses and that it was in a position to save Kwara from regress and Nigeria from further decline in 2023.
He urged state party leaders to band together and work together to ensure the party’s success at all levels in the upcoming general election.
Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s senatorial candidate for Kwara Central in 2023, called on the party’s leaders and members to put their differences aside and unite in the interests of the party and the people in his remark.
Alhaji Ishiaq Owolabi, chairman of the Kwara Central PDP, who hosted the stakeholders, urged for peace and unity while soliciting support for the party’s candidates in next year’s elections.
The party leaders met to discuss pertinent issues such as the PDP’s unity, the state of governance in Kwara, and the party’s preparation for the 2023 general elections.
