Barau Jibrin Emerges Deputy Senate President
Barau Jibrin has been declared the Deputy Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
TrackNews Media reports that this announcement follows the nomination of Senator David Umahi, representing Kano State.
The declaration came just moments ago, following a closely contested race for the Senate President position in the 10th Assembly.
In the end, Godswill Akpabio, the former Minister of Niger Delta and ex-governor of Akwa Ibom State, emerged victorious over his opponent, Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, the former governor of Zamfara State.
The results of the race revealed that Senator Godswill Akpabio secured an impressive total of 63 votes, while Senator Abdul Aziz Yari garnered a respectable 46 votes.
