By Adeleye Kunle
Gunmen attacked Boto village in Bauchi State’s Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area on Wednesday, killing one person and kidnapping three others.
This is according to a statement issued by the state’s Police Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, on Thursday in Bauchi.
“We received a distress call reporting that gunmen believed to be kidnappers had invaded Boto village.”
“The Police Commissioner, Umar Sanda, immediately directed the Tafawa Balewa Divisional Police Officer to spring into action.”
“The DPO rallied his men and rushed to the village, but the gunmen had already fled with the victims.”
“Our men are now combing the bushes for the criminals.” “In the name of Allah, we will arrest and bring them to justice,” he said.
Wakil stated that the command has previously acted quickly to rescue kidnapped victims and is prepared to do so again in this situation.
The spokesman also assured the victims’ families that they would be rescued and reunited with their families.
He urged the public to join forces with security forces in the fight against insecurity.
