Shamsuddeen Mohammed, the son of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, has urged Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, to empower the youth of the state. According to TrackNews Media, Shamsuddeen emphasized that the young people of Bauchi need genuine support rather than temporary handouts like bags of rice.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, he suggested that Seyi provide financial resources for the youth to start their businesses and offer them tricycles, commonly known as Keke Napep. He further proposed the establishment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and training in cryptocurrency.

As the son of the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Shamsuddeen stated, “Bauchi youths are not beggars and will not be empowered by temporary gestures.” He urged Seyi to prioritize employment opportunities and sustainable resources during his upcoming visit to Bauchi for the #RHYE program.

“Please, when coming to Bauchi, empower our youths with employment opportunities, Keke Napep, funding to start businesses, ICT infrastructure, and cryptocurrency training,” he said. He stressed the importance of teaching self-sufficiency: “We, the youths of Bauchi, don’t need rice and food packaged in nylon bags during Ramadan. Teach our youths how to fish rather than just feeding them for one day—they are not beggars.”
