In a display of unwavering support, the PDP political family in Angiama community rallied together to declare their backing for the party and its gubernatorial candidate, governor Douye Diri ahead of the November 11th 2023 governorship election in the state.

The gathering aimed to reaffirm their belief that Diri’s commitment to the prosperity of Angiama via road construction has brought much-needed infrastructural, human capital, and economic development to the community.

The Angiama PDP political family has once again converged in an august meeting to show their unflinching support for the People Democratic Party (PDP) and 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐧. 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐲𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐢 in the forthcoming governorship election in the state. The meeting which was anchored by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐨𝐧, the SSA Special Duties to the governor witnessed solidarity endorsements from women groups, youth groups, elders and the student groups in Angiama community with overwhelming enthusiasm to deliver PDP in all polling units across the community.

The PDP has always been a party that stands for the people and their welfare. This is evident in the remarkable achievements of the governor Douye Diri led Prosperity Administration in terms of infrastructural development, security, education and human capital development in state. The governor has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the people of the state, and his efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Speaking during the meeting, the senior special assistant on special duties Bayelsa State, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐨𝐧 took time to expatriate the need why all Angiama sons and daughters must rally round Governor Douye Diri in the November 11th governorship election in the state. He said “The governor’s strides in the area of infrastructural development is second to none.

Much anticipated major economic roads that have been in the history books of the state have been constructed and rehabilitated such as the Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie, Sagbama-Ekeremor Road, Nembe-Brass Road, New Glory Land Drive Phase 2, Igbogene-AIT Ring Road, New Yenagoa City Road and amongst others, thus making transportation easier and more accessible for the people.

“The governor has also made significant investments in the education and health sectors, which has led to the establishment of more schools and hospitals in the state. In addition to this, the governor has made significant efforts in the area of human capital development.

The state government has initiated various programs aimed at empowering the people, especially the youths. These programs include skill acquisition programs, entrepreneurship training, and job creation schemes. These initiatives have helped to reduce unemployment and poverty in the state, and have given hope to the people”

Representatives of women groups, youth groups, elders and student groups in the community also took turns to express their awareness of the governor’s efforts and their poised position to support him in his re-election bid. The governor has shown that he is a leader who is committed to the welfare of his people, and he deserves the support of all well-meaning citizens of the state, they added.

Another high point of the gathering was the solidarity it enjoyed as some influential members of the opposition party (APC) dumped its party and formally declared their unalloyed support for Gov. Douye Diri for peaceful and development oriented leadership disposition.

The APC members used the medium to formally fraternize with the Angiama PDP family and pledged their unwavering support to the governor’s re-election bid. Those who were received by the PDP are; Chief Willing Christopher, Mr. Okoya Christopher, Mr. Ebimobowei Kaizer, Mr. P.D. Gbanya, Mrs. Perepelebo Johnson and Miss. Tarimotimi Kioukeondo.

The APC decampees assured the PDP family that more APC members will be wooed to join the PDP in the coming days for the actualization of Gov. Diri’s re-election project.
