Bayelsa Blogger/ The Need for NBA to Call Ebikebuna Augustine Aluzu to Order
By Moses Dickson
TRACKING_____Few days ago one Ebikebuna Augustine Aluzu, a certain ‘legal practitioner’ in the most bizarre manner accused the Bayelsa State Government of abducting a blogger, Mr. Mienpamo Saint Onitsha.
Aluzu, known for his penchant for spreading falsehood alleged that the controversial blogger was being kept inside the Government House on the orders of Governor Douye Diri.
In the horrendous press statement, Aluzu consistently used the word “We”. However, it was not stated if the we referred to his political party, cult group or association of fake news purveyors. Certainly, he wasn’t writing on behalf of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).
Everyone now knows who “abducted” Mr. Mienpamo Saint Onitsha and why, thus vindicating the state government and again exposing Aluzu’s moral deficiency.
So, it is important now for Aluzu to tender an unreserved apology to Gov. Diri and his government in the same speed he issued the statement, accusing them of the criminal act.
It is also important that henceforth Aluzu should declare his interest in the politics of the state by formally pitching his tent with the opposition party he has been having a sizzling romance with.
He should stop hiding under the cover of “Rennaissance Bayelsa youths” to incite people of the state against the government and the PDP of which he is deeply obsessed with.
A lawyer’s greatest asset is his INTEGRITY for which as a pre-call requirement into this prestigious profession, he/she must be found worthy in “character and learning”. Spreading falsehood doesn’t bring popularity for a lawyer neither does it reflect the ideals of civil activism.
Finally, the Yenagoa branch of the NBA should call Ebikebuna Augustine Aluzu to first CONFIRM that this man is actually a LAWYER and where possible, Call him to order for his many actions that is fast bringing disrepute to the organization.
The actions of this man cannot be from a lawyer called to the bar.
They should not wait until an appropriate action is taken against him by his adversaries before they wade in.
