Bayelsa King Rejest Oil Company (AITEO Food Gift

The Amanyanabo of Opu-Nembe kingdom in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, His Imperial Majesty King (Dr) BIOBELEMOYE JOSIAH, (OGBODO VIII) on Thursday, 24th Feb, 2022 rejected food items presented to him by the management of the multinational oil giant Aiteo Eastern Exploration And Production Company during the Christmas celebration.
The Christmas gift was turned down by the king after the oil giant failed to provide a power generating set for the people of Opu-Nembe kingdom which the company promised the host community long ago.
King BIOBELEMOYE JOSIAH described the gift as an embarrassment to the traditional institution.
He said Aiteo gift of ten bags of rice, one cow and other food items to him is a clear demonstration of the multinational oil company’s crass insensitivity to the traditional stool of a Community hosting them which happens to be a major hub of the company’s operations.
The Youth President Engr Ayerite Moses, on behalf of the King took the food items to the company’s office in Port Harcourt earlier today and presented them to the management of the oil company.
Engr Ayeri Moses said the king is a contented man who will never be cowed by any Greek gift from Aiteo.
Engr Ayerite said Opu-Nembe is in dire need of development such as electricity, water, roads, and employment for the teeming unemployed youths.
Engr Ayerite Moses warned that if the concerns raised by the king are not properly handled, it could affect the cordial relationship between the company and the host community.
