BAYELSA SPEAKER HOLDS INTERACTIVE MEETING WITH ASSEMBLY STAFF, PROMISED ON REFORMS

TRACKING>>The Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah, Speaker Bayelsa State House of Assembly today Friday 7th 2019 held an interactive meeting with Staff and heads of various departments.

The Speaker while speaking with staff of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly seeks for collaboration and for harmonious working relationship with staff. The Rt. Honourable who informed staff of his intentions of carrying out serious reforms in the Assembly Complex.

According to the Speaker there will be serious reforms as he intends to change a lot of things in and around the Assembly for a better and serene working environment.

The Speaker who was quoted saying…

“I am going to change a lot of things here from the way they should to be in other to have a better working environment in the Assembly Complex”

“We have to change our mentality towards discharging our duties as staff including our punctuality to work and the effective discharge of our responsibilities”

The Speaker who also lay emphasis on the cleanliness of the Assembly Complex as he expressed his displeasure of the state of things around the Assembly Complex, promised to ensure there will be prompt maintenance of facilities not in proper working condition as he has already directed the Clerk of the House to commence duty.

Rt. Hon. Tonye Emmanuel Isenah also informed staffs that, he will join ideas with his colleagues to revive the Assembly Staff Clinic and to put it to it utmost use and function in other to attend to the health needs of Staff and members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

On orderliness around the Assembly Complex, charged staff to ensure there is orderliness sitting is going on around Hallowed Chamber as he promised to return the Assembly back to it previous standard according to best practices across the country and around the globe.

While speaking, the PASAN Chairman, Comrade Siso Simeon talks about the welfare of staff. Comrade Siso pleaded with the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Tonye Emmanuel Isenah to look into the issue of staff welfare.

Among the Chairman’s request include;
1. A Review of the Allowances of Staff
2. Renovation of the Administrative Block
3. Provision of Office Furniture
4. Training and Retraining of staff
5. Seminars / Equipment of Library
6. Connection / Supply of Water to all Offices
7. Provision of Staff Restaurant
8. Effective Running of the Assembly Clinic
9. Effective Running of the Assembly Staff Bus

In his response, the Speaker assure members of staff of his prompt action as he reiterated on his earlier promised during the meeting.

The meeting which has in attendance include; Hon. Tari Porri, Member Representing Ekeremor Constituency 1, Hon. Felix Bonny Ayah, Membere Representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 1, Hon. Ayakpo Wilson, Member Representing Ekeremor Constituency II, Mr. Owudogu Korigena Edward, Ag. Clerk and other heads of Department.
