Bayelsa Volunteers Apprehend 33yr Old Phone Theft
A 33years old notorious criminal identified as Nana from Amassoma and Ekeremor communities in Bayelsa State has been arrested by operatives of the Bayelsa State Volunteer Security Outfit for allegedly stealing a phone in a private residence at Samphino, Yenagoa.
He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon at Etegwe in Yenagoa the state capital, following an intelligent report from the victim who earlier pleaded anonymous.
Confirming the incident to the Volunteer State Coordinator, Chief Oyinkuro Lucky Asanakpo, the victim said the culprit broke into his house and stole Samsung A20.
When asked further, the suspect confirmed he stole the phone when no one was in the house.
At the time of the arrest the Nana was in possession with phones, ATM cards, sim cards belonging to people and other stolen items.
He has since been handed over to the Bayelsa Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and prosecution.
