BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT YOUTHS DEVELOPMENT: PYC Tells Newly Sworn-In Commissioners
•••Alfred N. Kemedape Eminently Qualified To Man The Ministry OF Youth Developments.
•••Urge Him To Run An All Inclusive Youths Leadership Style.
The Prosperity Youths Coalition (PYC) ably led by Snr.comrade Doubara Kumokou has again echoed the need for every apparatus of government to be intentional about the need to strategically position the youths of Bayelsa state on the path of self reliance and development, to maintain the relative peace and security currently experienced across the state.
The group’s call is as contained in its congratulatory message to the newly sworn-in Commissioners, signed by Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta its Secretary-general. The message as released to newsmen enjoind all the Commissioners to be guided by love and duty to Bayelsa state, and must remain steadfast to assist the governor actualise his vision of achieving all round prosperity for Bayelsans.
The PYC reinterates that just like it urged the first batch of Commissioners, the appeal of Bayelsa youths have not changed, that every Commissioner should see to the intentional engagement of youths in their various Ministries, not only at staffing but also in the different processes including but not limited to award of contracts, supervision, and supplies.
Reminding them that even though several persons worked round the clock to achieve the successful return of Gov. Douye Diri and his Deputy Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for a second term in office, the now appointed persons should consider their appointment as a privilege and call to service rather than an opportunity for show of power or influence, thus, each one should bear in mind that they have been chosen not because they were the best qualified, but because like Esther in the bible they found favour in the governor’s own sight.
Congratulating in particular the newly sworn-in Commissioner for Youths Hon. Alfred Kemepade, the PYC express that his choice to man the now independent Ministry of Youths is a more than welcome development, owing to his track record as a key youth player not only in Bayelsa state and the Niger Delta region, but with an experience celebrated nation wide, it is hoped that his practicality makes him the right round peg in that specific round hole.
Emphasizing on the need to run an all inclusive policy at the newly created seperate Ministry of Youths and to leave his indelible footprints, Igbeta stated that the PYC feels satisfied haven been the first group to come out publicly to demand and strive for the separation of the Ministry of Youths from the shadow of the Ministry of Sports Development.
Wishing each and every sworn-in Commissioner well in their service to the governor and the state, the PYC pledged it’s continued support to the government, especially in the direction of youths development and empowerment, and called on Hon. Alfred Kemepade to always count on the group’s readiness to assist whenever called upon or the need arises, informimg him that Bayelsa youths trust in him to roll out programs on empowerment, skills development and employment generation.
