Be magnanimous in victory – APC chieftain, Aliko Mohammed advises Bauchi gov

Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has been urged to be magnanimous in victory having been reelected for a second term in office by the people of the state.
A former aspirant for the House of Representatives for Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress APC, Mohammed Aliko Mohammed gave the advice in an interview with journalists in Bauchi.
The APC chieftain said his advice to the governor, who won the March 18 governorship election on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, was without any prejudice to any action his party would take on the outcome of the election.
“As a card carrying member of the APC, we believe in democracy and everybody came out. I think in the history of Nigeria, this is one of the best conducted elections.
“The election must have been characterised by some discrepancies here and there, but generally, it is viewed as being free and fair. We tried our best and believe that our candidate is still better, but the electorates have decided to choose whom they feel will serve their purpose,” he said.
He then urged Governor Mohammed not to punish those who did not vote for him (governor) in the election, especially people of Misau Local Government Area, as well reach out to other candidates in the election, particularly the APC candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (retd).
“Governor Bala Mohammed, as well as the Air Marshal Sadique are all citizens of Bauchi State who all contested with sole intention of making the state a better place. We want to implore the Governor to reach out to his co-contestant and also take some ideas from him that have been raised,” Mohammed said
