Murtala Ajaka (also known as Muri), a candidate for governor from the Social Democratic Party, was given an interview on Arise yesterday night during which he discussed the recent attack on his convoy in Lokoja, Kogi state.

Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is aware that Kogi West or East typically assumes power after Kogi Central, according to Muri Ajaka. I disagreed with him because, despite knowing this, he went ahead and nominated his brother, who is from the same ward, to be the next governor. He has recently threatened to kill me. Regarding his threats, I have already created a petition, and I’m hoping the federal government will act promptly.

Murtala Ajaka continued, “Why will I try to harm a Governor who is now in office like they are claiming? Unlike a sane person like me, a bandit would never even try to talk like that. The election of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s brother as the future governor has stoked resentment and polarized the state.

Murtala Ajaka explained why he left the party: “I left because they faked my state chairman’s signature and the state high court validated it, which prevented me from taking part in the primaries. I’ll stick around and play this game all the way through. Because I have supporters, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello is aware that I am the candidate to beat in this election.
