Belgium: Orban’s goal helps Gent qualify for UEFA Conference League
Gift Orban played a crucial role as KAA Gent qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League following a 2-2 draw against Cercle Brugge at the Ghelamco Arena.
Orban drew Gent level five minutes after the break to cancel out Kevin Denkey’s opening goal.
It was the 20-year-old’s sixth goal in four games in the Belgian Pro League playoffs.
The Nigerian has now scored 20 goals across all competitions for Gent following his arrival from Norwegian second division club, Staebek in January.
Gent will now compete in Europe for the ninth consecutive season.
The Buffalos were knocked out of the Europa Conference League in the quarter-finals this season by West Ham United
