Benue Lawmaker, Kinsmen Dump APC, Laud Ortom’s Dogged Stand Against Herdsmen

A member of the Benue State House of Assembly representing Makurdi North state constituency, Hon Thomas Kwagh-Kudi on Tuesday along with his kinsmen dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Kwagh-Kudi announced the decision before the State Governor, Samuel Ortom at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.
He noted that they were moved by the spirit of Ortom’s dogged stands against herdsmen’s invasion of the state and considered it wise to join hands with the governor to protect the state from external aggression.
The lawmaker on behalf of himself and his kinsmen, expressed that the decision was to also complement the developmental efforts of the governor in transforming the state in all sectors of governance.
“Our decision to dump the APC and pitch tent with PDP today is to enable us join hands with Governor Samuel Ortom who has done so much to develop the state and protect the people against external forces.
“We would work hard for the success of PDP in the forthcoming elections. The APC lack the capacity to provide the desired leadership at all levels and we can not continue to be part failures,” he expressed.
Governor Ortom while responding, commended Hon Kwagh-Kudi and his kinsmen for their courage and noted that their decision was the right step to provide development for the people of Benue State.
The Governor assured the decampees of equal opportunity in the party henceforth.
Tracknews reports that, Mr. Alexander Unule, Thaddeus Usende, Saawuan Uhembe, Philip Yondo, Pahav Udekor and David Anum were among top APC members that defected with the lawmaker.
