Biafra/IPOB: AGN Confirms Chinwetalu Agu’s Arrest By DSS

The Actors Guild of Nigeria have confirmed the arrest of veteran Nollywood Actor, Chiwetalu Agu, by operatives of the Department of State Services.
Speaking to PUNCH on Friday, AGN President, Emeka Rollas, said he was arrested after his release by the Nigerian Army.
According to him, plans are already in place to secure Chinwetalu Agu’s release from the secret police.
Rollas said, “The AGN is aware that the DSS has picked up Chiwetalu Agu after the Nigerian Army arrested him.
“We are currently working on securing his release.”
Also confirming his arrest, the DSS disclosed that the veteran actor was brought to their custody by the Nigerian Army.
DSS while confirming the development noted that justice will take its course in the development which has stirred reaction across the country.
The development was confirmed by the spokesman of DSS, Peter Afnunaya.
Afunaya said, “Army brought him to us. Justice will take its course.”
Recall that soldiers from the Nigerian Military apprehended Chinwetalu Agu for wearing a Biafran flag outfit on Thursday.
The soldiers proceeded to search his vehicle and fired some shots into the air to scare away onlookers.
The Nigeria Army had claimed that the actor was arrested for canvassing support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The Army accused Agu of backing an outlawed group despite the many atrocities committed by IPOB.
