Blasphemy: “I’m impressed with Ganduje for vowing to sign death warrant”

TRACKING ____A social media user has expressed satisfaction and support towards Governor Umar Ganduje over his decision to sign the death warrant against a 22-year old Aminu Yahaya Sharif.
Justice Aliyu Kani of the Kano Upper Shari’ah Court had sentenced Sharif to death over alleged blasphemy based on Section 382 (b) of Kano Shari’ah Penal Code of 2000.
TrackNews Online gathered that Governor Ganduje of Kano had said the state government has accepted the death sentence verdict and the rule of law surrounding the case.
“I will not waste time in signing the warrant for the execution of the man who blasphemed our Holy Prophet of Islam.”
A social media user who goes by Faarees in a tweet commended the governor saying he hoped the death sentence would serve as a deterrent to others who may want to insult Prophet Muhammed.
He wrote: “I’ve never been as impressed by Ganduje as I am now, he said he won’t waste a minute in signing the death warrant for the guy who blasphemed against Prophet Muhammad pbuh, I pray this serves as a warning to all, let’s respect every religion and keep Nigeria UNITED. Peace”
His statement generated condemnation from many social media users who expressed dismay at the support for execution.
