Boni Haruna: PDP chieftain attacks Senator Abbo, says it’s a shame for a sheep to interfere in two goats’ squabble.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Andrew Muchalla, on Wednesday, lashed at the Senator representing Adamawa north in the red chamber, Ishaku Abbo, over his Facebook post criticising the PDP for ignoring a former governor of the state, Boni Haruna, during the declaration of his senatorial ambition in Michika, describing it “as empty and uninspiring.”
Muchalla accused Ishaku Abbo of failing to apologise for making several egregious boasts that he would be Adamawa governor in 2023, only to make a turn to contest for senate and shamefully interfere between two goats fighting and for a sheep to weigh in.
Mr Muchalla told reporters that the emptiness of Abbos’s Facebook post shows that he lacked the capacity to be Senator in 2019, and he should know that his political career has ended in 2023.
He said that Adamawa north is made up of men and women of integrity and wondered why a man who occupies a sensitive position as a Senator would make such a Facebook post knowing fully well that his body and soul are still in PDP only on sabbatical leave in the APC.
According to him, “We were surprised that somebody like the former governor, Boni Haruna, that was roundly defeated in 2011 could organise a declaration which we do not hold against him because it is his democratic right but that he does so, so emptily is our concern.
“Adamawa is made up of men and women of integrity. We expect that any of our own irrespective of a political party, cannot lower the banner by coming up with such emptiness Abbo has shown through his Facebook post.
“Abbo’s Facebook post alleging to beg some imaginary PDP members that are aggrieved over the Boni saga shows that his body and soul are in PDP; if not, I don’t expect a sheep to separate a fight between two goats; we must advise him to up the ante and not make members of the general public who are not Adamawas to think that our level of understanding of issues is waning.
“Boni fails to understand that the governor is from his neighbouring Madagali, if the governor is from Madagali and Boni is from Michika, it means the people of Mubi has been left out of the politicial equation, we are also aware that Abbo has been praying for PDP to feed a weak candidate in 2023 so that he Abbo will have a fill day if APC give him the ticket, which i doubt much.”
Muchalla described Abbo’s attacks on the Fintiri administration and the PDP as petty and indicated that the Adamawa north Senator was being economical with the truth for political reasons.
