Borno NUJ elects new executive committee members

The Borno state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) elected new executive members Saturday to run the council’s affairs for the next three years under the supervision of the NUJ’s national president, Comrade Chris Isiguzo, at the union’s 2022 Triennial Delegates Conference held at the Musa Usman state secretariat complex, International Conference Hall, Maiduguri.
Comrade Ali Mamman Shuwa, the chainman of the Credential Committee, who announced the results, said Comrade Dauda Iliya of FRCN Radio Nigeria emerged as the chairman, while Comrade Abdulkareem Haruna of HumAngle emerged as the vice chairman of the council.
He stated that Chiroma Ali Ibrahim of Peace FM was elected secretary of the council, and Mrs. Hauwa Bata of Peace FM was elected treasurer. Iya Maaji of the NTA Network Center was appointed Assistant Secretary.
Babagana Ali of BRTV was elected financial secretary, and Mrs. Bawagana Abba Liman of the Federal Information Unit was elected auditor.
