BREAKING: 23 Traders Drown in Kebbi Boat Accident

Twenty-three traders have reportedly drowned in a boat mishap in Yauri Emirate Council, Kebbi State.
TrackNews Media reports that the boat, which was carrying 30 traders and their goods from Kasabo village to Yauri town for commercial activities, sank in the early hours of Monday, October 2, 2023.
Seven people were rescued alive, but 23 others are still missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris confirmed the accident in a statement late Monday night. He condoled with the families of the victims and appealed to them to accept the will of God in good faith.
“I want to urge you to see what happened as the will of Almighty Allah that nobody can question, therefore, accept it in good faith.
“We should also continue to pray to Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Jannatul Firdaus,” Governor Idris said.
The governor also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the accident. He described the incident as “an ugly development” and prayed to God to put an end to the recurrence of such events.
