BREAKING: Armed Policemen Storm Ambrose Alli University over Students’ Protest Against Tuition Hike

The management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU) in Ekpoma, Edo State, has deployed armed policemen at the university’s gate to intimidate students protesting against a hike in tuition fees.
TrackNews Media reports that this latest development follows the 300% hike in fees.
An eyewitness who shared photos of the security operatives on X (formerly Twitter) said they were stationed at strategic locations around the university.
“Heavy security at AAU EKPOMA main gate this morning to intimidate students for protesting against school fees hike,” the eyewitness wrote.
The university authorities had previously announced an increase in tuition fees, sparking outrage among students.
In response to the protests, the management suspended the students’ union and reportedly threatened to evict some student leaders.
The management had also reached out to the parents of the affected students, sources say.
“The DSS extracted the biodata of the students and called their parents, asking them to caution their children to withdraw from this struggle and stop asking the management to reverse the school fees. The DSS did that on Sunday,” Sahara Reporters reported one of the sources as saying.
