BREAKING: Defections continue as deputy governor of Kano state exits APC, joins PDP

The Kano state deputy governor, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The development was made public by Sumner Shagari Sambo, via his Twitter handle, @Sumner_Sambo, on Wednesday, August 1.
Meanwhile, track News previously reported that after several weeks of speculation, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Wednesday, August 1, defected from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to his former party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The declaration followed a solidarity rally organised by the governor’s supporters across the 23 local government areas of the state.
