BREAKING: Fubara sacks Rivers LG CTC Chairman

The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has suspended the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Otonye Briggs.
A source in Government House Rivers State, who is not commissioned to speak for the government, but spoke in confidence, said Fubara also appointed Hon. Bitebobo Nelson Amieye to take over the affairs of the council.
The governor further directed Briggs to hand over all council properties in his possession to the new CTC chairman of the LGA.
At press time the state government has not given reasons for the suspension and quick replacement.
However, some sources in the state claimed that the suspension was allegedly as a result of the failure of the LGA boss to empower residents of his LGA.
The governor has ordered the CTC chairmen and their committee members to initiate an empowerment programme to empower his supporters in all the LGAs.
It was gathered that while other LGA chairmen are keeping to the task that the Akuku-Toru team have not carried out any reported empowerment programme as directed.
