Breaking news: Inspector General of Police graduates, pronounced and deployed 560 personnels.

No fewer than 560 Police Constables have graduated from the Police Training School in Odukpani local government area (LGA) near Calabar, Cross River.

Inspector General of Police, Mr Usman Baba, pronounced the graduates as Police Constables during their graduation ceremony on Thursday.

TrackNews reports that Usman Alikali Baba was represented by Mr Okunlola Kamaldeen, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 6, Calabar.

IGP said that the deployment of the Constables will complement the manpower need of the force in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

He added that the exercise is in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive for the recruitment of 10,000 policemen annually across the country to reposition the Nigeria Police Force for effective service delivery.

“The recruits were trained on professional, legal and liberal studies to enable them carry out law enforcement, crime prevention/detection and preservation of law and order in the country.

“They are to be posted to their local government areas of origin to enhance the envisaged citizen-driven community policing approach of the Nigeria Police.

“The Baba is using the passing-out parade which took place simultaneously in four Premier Colleges and 12 Training Schools across the country to assure Nigerians of adequate security as they go about their lawful engagements,” he said.
