Breaking News. Tension in Amassoma as Youths allegedly killed by Nigerian police over NDU Saga, see photos.

REPORT Coming in from the University town of Amassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa state says more than 8 persons have been allegedly shot by security operatives following protest by women and some youths on the forceful reopening of the NDU school gate today.
It was gathered that the NDU school gate was reopened last night with the aide of security operatives after some protesting women shut it down and welded it last week
The women were protesting their shock sacking by the school authorities .
We gathered that the women and some youths stormed the University gate this morning after discovering that the gate has been opened but they were chased out forcefully by security operatives.
It was further gathered that the resistance of some youths to reopen the gate led to the shooting by security operatives.
A source told our correspondent that the two persons allegedly shot have been rushed to the hospital in Amassoma.
