Breaking: Osinbajo in closed-door meeting with Magu, new acting DSS DG

Following the blockage of the National Assembly by DSS operatives and the subsequent dismissal of Lawal Musa Daura, the director general of the agency, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday , August 7, met with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss, Ibrahim Magu, and the new acting director-general of the Department of State Services, Mattew Seiyefa.
Though the details of of the meeting is still unknown as at the time of filing this report, but recall that acting Osinbajo said the blockade of the National Assembly gates by operatives of the Department of State Services(DSS) was unauthorized and slammed it as a gross violation of constitutional order, rule of law and all accepted notions of law and order.
According to him, the unlawful act which was done without the knowledge of the Presidency is condemnable and completely unacceptable.
A statement issued by Laolu Akande, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, office of the acting president, said that the action of the DSS was not authorised by the presidency.
By this statement, Professor Osinbajo is consequently assuring Nigerians that all persons within the law enforcement apparatus who participated in this travesty will be identified and subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.
Osinbajo had earlier sacked Lawal Daura, the Director-General of the secret service and asked him to handover to the most senior person in the organisation.
