Buhari honors a police officer for returning a $200,000 bribe.

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
President Muhammadu Buhari presented SP Daniel Amah with a Public Service Integrity Award yesterday for demonstrating exceptional courage and integrity in the performance of his duties.
Amah, a Plateau State native, received the award from President Buhari in Abuja during the 4th National Summit on Reducing Corruption in the Public Sector, which had the theme “Corruption and the Education Sector.”
Amah, a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Bompai Kano, refused a $200,000 bribe to cover up a case involving one Mr Ali Zaki, a bureau de change operator, who conspired with other criminals to rob a Nigerian (name withheld) of $750,000.
Amah, the case’s handler, turned down a $200,000 bribe to end the investigation and bring the suspect to justice.
In his remarks, Buhari congratulated the awardee on his outstanding behavior and used the occasion to urge other Nigerians in positions of power to follow suit, emphasizing that “we need to kill corruption for Nigeria to move forward.”
