BY: Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed
Mr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential flag-bearer of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has a caution to Nigerian senators against removing President Muhammadu Buhari.
The past Kano Senator warned the upper chamber’s lawmakers from the opposition platform not be in a hurry to impeach Buhari.
He gave this warning when he visited AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the current Governor of Kwara State,in Ilorin, the capital of the state.
Kwankwaso appealed to aggrieved lawmakers not to rock the boat, the Track News Nigeria covers.
In his words: “I don’t know the facts that they have. But as their former colleague, I want them to tread very softly.
“They should not be in a hurry to rock the boat. Yes, I know they have reasons to be worried – I am sure everybody in this country is worried about insecurity; because some of these things could happen to anybody – even the presidential fleet was attacked in Katsina State. So, I think we need to do more.”
Recall our earlier report that the Senate Minority Caucus had walked out of a plenary session over failure of the Upper Legislative chamber to commence Buhari’s impeachment.
The opposition had demanded that the Senate serve Buhari an impeachment notice, but was turned down by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.
Our Correspondent, Mr. Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, says although there is an initial failed move, the opposition had given Buhari six weeks to solve the issue of terrorism in the country.
