Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin Republic and former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), paid a condolence visit to the families of late OPEC Secretary-General, late Muhammadu Sanusi Barkindo, Walin Adamawa, and the Lamido of Adamawa on Sunday in Yola, Adamawa State.

While in Yola, Ambassador Buratai visited the late Sanusi Barkindo’s home in Walin Adamawa, where he commiserated with his elder brother Alhaji Hamidu Muhammad Jada, his wife, son, and relatives.

He then went to the family home, where he commiserated with the late Barkindo’s elderly mother, Hajiya Saadatu Barkindo.

Lt Gen Buratai (rtd) later went to the palace of Adamawa’s Lamido, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, and condoled with him on the death of Walin Adamawa.

He also stated that the late Walin Adamawa’s death was a significant loss not only to the family and the nation, but also to the international community.
