JUST-IN:Tinubu Govt Gives Traders One-Month Deadline To Lower Prices
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has issued a one-month deadline for traders and market stakeholders to address exploitative pricing practices. Newly appointed Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Tunji Bello, announced this during a stakeholders’ engagement on pricing issues held in Abuja on Thursday.
Bello emphasized that the FCCPC will take enforcement actions against those who fail to comply once the moratorium period concludes. He convened the meeting to tackle the rising trend of unreasonable pricing for consumer goods and services, as well as unethical practices by market associations.
