BUSTED!! Youths Nab Armed Robbers While Trying To Rob Woman In Makurdi

Two suspected armed robbers were nabbed by some youths in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital while trying to rob a woman at gunpoint.
We gathered that the incident happened on Friday (September 17, 2021), at Gber-inder Kanshio area of the town.
An eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent on anonymous condition said the armed robbers followed the woman to her house after she collected a contribution, popularly called “adashi”.
The eyewitness said,
“on getting to the house, the woman who wasn’t aware that she was being spied on kept the money somewhere and went out. The robbers then rushed into the house and met the woman’s child inside and convinced to go and tell his mother that she has visitors. And the boy was out of the way, they started searching the house for the money. While they were still searching, a young man came in unexpected and suspected what was going on immediately. The robbers noticed the suspicion and one of them pulled out a pistol immediately and pointed towards the door at the hin. The young man then rushed out and Jammed the door, locked the two criminals inside and raised alarm. And the youths of the area turned out and nabbed the criminals.”
The eyewitness said the suspects were later handed over to the Police after being tortured by the angry youths.
Kanshio and its environs have been under terror by criminals who specialized in snatching motorcycles and phones mostly at night.
Efforts by our correspondent to reach the PPRO of the Benue State Police Command to confirm the development proved abortive as her telephone lines were unreachable as at the time of filing this report.
