BYHA Speaker Commends NCDMB On Partnership.

The Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere has commended the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote and his management for undertaking various capacity building programmes and trainings in the host communities and other parts of the Niger Delta Region.
Rt. Hon. Ingobere who gave the commendation when he led the leadership of Bayelsa State House of Assembly on an interactive session with the management of the NCDMB, also hailed the fruitful relationship between the Board and the Prosperity Government of Bayelsa State led by Executive Governor; His Excellency Senator Douye Diri.
Mr. Speaker noted that the siting of the Board’s headquarters and their activities have brought developments to the Niger Delta as well as the Oil & Gas industry sector, while thanking them for living up to their corporate social responsibility, he assured the Board of collaboration moving forward.
In his remarks, the Majority Leader of Bayelsa State House of Assembly; Mr. Monday Edwin Obolo-Bubou said the content tower has added to the aesthetics of Yenagoa City and sued for collaboration in the areas of conflict resolution to ensure a cordial relationship with the host communities.
He said the State House of Assembly would always be ready to synergize with institutions and bodies to enhance developments in the areas of legislations to strengthen the bonds with the NCDMB.
On his part, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote stated that the Board has already had fruitful collaborations with both the executive and judiciary in Bayelsa State.
He promised that, with this particular visit the Board would open channels of effective collaboration with the legislature, henceforth.
He explained that the NCDMB is a regulatory body with focus on the Oil & Gas sector by way of building capacity, equipping the people with necessary skills/trainings required to be engaged by operators of the petroleum industry to bring about developments in the area.
While enumerating some of the Board’s efforts and achievements, Engr. Wabote included the 17th-storey NCDMB Tower in Yenagoa City and disclosed that two modular refineries are under construction in the state, development of an industrial Park is near completion in Emeyal, a Gas Park to house a lot of gas related activities, Petroleum’s Products Terminal in Brass, establishment of (Dockyard) Shipyard for repair/maintenance of big vessels and trainings at all levels. Also, a fertilizer project all in Brass to stimulate developments and generate employment.
The NCDMB management avails the leadership of Bayelsa State House of Assembly at any time the opportunity for facility-tour on the above mentioned Projects’ sites to ascertain first hand information.
However, Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote called for necessary legislations from the State House of Assembly to regulate and standardize hotel’s facilities in the state because it has being a sort of concern expressed by by many high profile visitors coming into the state for business in terms of befitting accommodation.
