Chidinma Aaron Wins Miss Nigeria 2018
In a keenly contested pageant show which started with eighteen beautiful ladies, Chidinma Leilani Aaron emerged and was crowned the 42nd Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant in the early hours of Monday morning, November 26th, 2018.
Miss Aaron who is a chef and business administrator currently undergoing the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) program took over the reins from the 2017 Miss Nigeria beauty queen, the soft spoken Mildred Ehiguese.
The Expo hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites was the venue of the event where guests witnessed the glamour and glitz as music performances by Afrobeat veteran, Dede Mabioku and Johnny Drille serenaded the audience who waited keenly to see the emergence of the new Queen.
The 1st Runner -Up was won by Miss Chisom Olivia Duna while Miss Munirah Ameh got the 2nd Runner-Up position selected by the eleven judges which included delectable actress, Rita Dominic, Tatiana Moussalli, director of Cool Fm, Fade Ogunro, Konye Nwabugor and David Wej. In a dramatic fashion, the judges pruned the eighteen contestants to Top twelve and then to Top five who are Chisom Olivia Dunu, Ntan Sharon Nton, Munira Ameh, Stephanie Ayida and Chidinma Aaron.
One of the highlights of the pageant anchored by Ebuka Ochendu and a lady, was when American celeb, Blac Chyna and Instagram transgender celeb, Bobrisky came into the expo hall accompanied by security men and got the attention of the comedian, Bovi Ugbom while he was cracking ribs. Bovi called her name, Blac Chyna who was in Nigeria for the first time and was seen in Abuja. She stole part of the show with Bobrisky whose fame had risen since last year.
Guests at the beauty pageant include the former Miss Nigeria beauty queen, Helen Prest-Ajayi, senior staff and executives of the major sponsor, Heritage Bank and others.
Chidinma Leilani Aaron has now become three million naira richer with other juicy packages to enhance her one year reign. The beauty pageant organised by FOLIO Times Multimedia, owners of Daily Times newspaper, has continued to empower young ladies continuously and give them a voice since 1957 when it was first held and won by Grace Atinuke Oyelude.
According to the organisers, “The Miss Nigeria position is a job and the title bearer actively champions causes that benefit and promote society. Our target areas are Education, Environment, Arts and Culture, Financial Management and Health.”
